About SynerGIS Bonds

A bond is an investment. You invest money with SynerGIS, so that we can invest it into a diversified portfolio of asset-backed lending. Once the bond comes to an end, or matures, SynerGIS then give you your money back, plus interest.
Your capital is at risk, and access to your money is not permitted until the bond matures.

A SynerGIS Bond is a fixed rate loan note, issued by SynerGIS Capital plc (SynerGIS) and distributed by Global Investment Strategy UK Ltd (GIS) (437558), a British FCA-regulated financial institution.

SynerGIS, through Global Investment Strategy UK Ltd (GIS), is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is a participant in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). GIS is deemed an investment firm by the FSCS. For an investment business, the FSCS may pay compensation up to £85,000 to each eligible claimant. To find out more about the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, click here.

We issue new bonds regularly throughout the year.

Driven by an exceptionally talented team, SynerGIS is designed to push the boundaries in efficient asset financing, providing consumers with responsible and competitive returns.

This is achieved through a mix of secured commercial and development property finance, select trade finance and portfolio management. SynerGIS will additionally retain a liquidity buffer to meet its obligations.

Yes. You can see all activity and balances on your account by clicking on ‘Account’ in the top right of the SynerGIS website.

Unfortunately not. Your money is committed for the full term of the bond, so please ensure the length of the bond you choose suits your needs. You are not able to redeem your SynerGIS Bond early, except in the case of the bondholder’s death. If that happens, the interest paid out will be calculated according to the value of the bond and its interest rate at the time of encashment.

There are none. Unlike other investment companies, SynerGIS does not charge a fee for managing your money.

If your SynerGIS Bond is in your sole name, your executors will need to formally instruct us with what to do with your investment. We can either transfer ownership of the bond to one or more of your beneficiaries, or allow your executors to cash the investment in early.

If you hold a SynerGIS Bond in joint names with someone else, the investment continues in the surviving party’s name until the end of the term. When the investment comes to an end (matures), we will pay the full amount due to the surviving investor.

Interest is calculated daily. The interest you are quoted is the AER (Annual Equivalent Rate). It’s an easy way for you to be able to compare your savings options. The AER gives you a clearer idea of what you would make on your money if you put it in an account and left it for one year.

Interest payments are made every six months. All interest is paid gross (before tax).

Applying for a SynerGIS Bond

Our fixed rate bonds are available to individuals, aged 18 years or over, who are ordinarily resident in the UK (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland) for tax purposes and have a permanent UK address. Yes. We accept joint applications (maximum of two people), but remember, neither applicant are able to withdraw the investment before the bond comes to an end, and your capital is at risk.

The investment limit for a joint account is the same as for a single. You can invest as little as £1,000 and as much as £250,000 per bond, per release. The limit is per account, not per person.

FSCS

SynerGIS is a brand name of Global Investment Strategy UK Ltd (GIS). GIS is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is a participant in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Each eligible claimant is protected for up to £85,000.

Tax Information

Yes. We are an HMRC approved manager of Stocks and Shares ISAs, reference Z1766. When applying for any SynerGIS Bond you can select the ‘ISA wrapper’ option to take advantage of your annual tax-free savings limit. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may be subject to change. To find out what the limit is for the current tax year, click here.

Every year you can save money tax-free with an Individual Savings Account (ISA). The government sets the annual limit and any interest you make on that money will be tax free. Anything over and above the tax-free savings limit you’ll have to pay tax on. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may be subject to change.

To find out what the limit is for the current tax year, click here.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept ISA transfers from your existing provider at the moment.

Interest and maturity payments are paid to you without being taxed (also known as ‘gross’ payments). The tax treatment of these payments depends on your personal circumstances and is subject to change.

The Personal Savings Allowance was introduced by HMRC on 6 April 2016. This means that basic rate taxpayers can earn £1,000 of interest per tax year before paying tax on their interest. For higher rate taxpayers this allowance is £500 per tax year. There is no Personal Savings Allowance for additional rate tax payers.
Interest earned on ISAs won’t count towards your Personal Savings Allowance because it’s already tax-free

SynerGIS will send you an annual statement in the post, and you can also access your account online 24/7 to look up your information regarding your interest payments.

Please consult with your tax adviser if you have any questions.

Paying for your SynerGIS Bond

Once your application is successful, you will be directed to our payment page. Here, you can fund your account by making a bank transfer, or by using a debit card.
You can use your Debit Card for payments between £1,000 and £50,000, or make a Bank Transfer for any amount over £1,000.

If the name on the account does not match the one entered during your application, there may be further Anti Money Laundering checks we have to do. This may delay funds appearing in your SynerGIS Bond account.
